POSITION FILLED: Archeological Field Technicians - Thunderbird Archeology, a division of Wetland Studies and Solutions, Inc., has immediate openings for four archeological field technicians. The work will consist of Phase I and Phase II investigations within Loudoun County, Virginia and is expected to last approximately four months, possibly longer. The positions are temporary. A 40 hour or greater work week is anticipated but not guaranteed. The salary will be $12.00 per hour. Only individuals within commuting distance of Loudoun County will be considered, as no per diem or mileage will be paid. The applicants must have at least a B.A. in Anthropology, Archeology (preferably), or other related field and have prior archeological experience, possess a strong work ethic, and the desire to gain experience in different aspects of cultural resource management. POSITION FILLED: Engineers - Biological / Civil / Environmental - Seeking entry-level engineers interested in environmental sciences to start in summer 2008. Projects include: wetlands mitigation design, stormwater wetlands systems, stream restoration and floodplain studies. Ideal candidates will have from 0 to 2 years experience, EIT, and knowledge of AutoCad, Land Development Desktop, HEC-1, HEC-RAS, and TR-55. POSITION FILLED: Engineer - Floodplain Director - Seeking a P.E. with 5 to 15 years of experience to conduct floodplain studies and be involved with wetland mitigation, stream restoration, and LID concept plans. Must be proficient in AutoCad, Land Development Desktop, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and TR-55. This person will also be tasked with developing a floodplain practice in our firm and hiring a team of engineers to grow this line of work as workload increases. POSITION FILLED: Environmental Scientist - Seeking mid-level environmental scientist with at least 3 to 5 years of experience performing wetland delineations; preparing federal and state permit applications and other technical studies related to aquatic resources; conducting endangered and threatened species (ETS) surveys; assessing potential impacts to ETS; and coordinating with federal and state resource agencies with regard to wetlands and ETS issues. Excellent field botany skills and general natural history knowledge/interest required. Experience working with a diverse client base in both the public and private sectors highly desirable.
